Nicky and Jerri, two rebellious teen aged British girls travel to Sri Lanka to live with a strict host family for a week. The staunch Buddhist De Zylva family raises their 4 children according to strict rules which the British girls must also follow while living with them. These rules include no drinking, no smoking and no foul language; a tall order for the teens.

They have been sent to Sri Lanka by their parents who are struggling to deal with their out of control ways in an attempt to change their attitudes, outlooks and behaviours in general. During the week they receive a letter from their real parents with a list of issues they should try to resolve.

The episode was filmed in Colombo, Hikkaduwa and Piliyandala. The girls get up at 5am and go to work on a cinnamon plantation in Hikkaduwa, where they see how hard some people have to work to make ends meet. Jerri volunteers at a care home for the mentally disabled and Nicky visits a Buddhist monk.

The World's Strictest Parents is an internationally franchised television reality series developed by Twenty Twenty Television UK, broadcast on the BBC. The Dreamforge (Pvt) Ltd. was the local fixer for this shoot and provided research, permits, transport, location management and production services for the filming crew.
